If you’re a grown-up who’s experienced braces, you bear in mind how alarming it was to appreciate you could have to walk around with an oral cavity loaded with metallic. In your account, it was social suicide. After getting them though, you realized it wasn’t such a big deal, and when they came off, you appreciated that you leaped. However, there are alternative ways to straighten your teeth these days that might allow you to avoid the dreaded metal braces.
Invisalign
Most of us have heard of Invisalign, and those are certainly one distinct model of undetectable aligners that you can get. If you only need some minor adjustments to your smile, this might be the way to go. You will have to remember to wear them almost always, though, except when you’re eating. While eating, you have to remove them, which can be a bit of an inconvenience, but at least you can eat whatever you want, unlike with regular braces.
Lingual Braces
You can also look at lingual braces when you are looking for invisible teeth straightening answer. These are braces that go on the back of your teeth instead of the front. You have to avoid eating certain foods as you would with regular braces, but at least people can’t see them.
Clear Braces
A lot of people also prefer to get crystal clear braces to make their braces look a little less apparent. These are braces made of clear or white plastic and are intended to reduce the visual appearance of braces. It might seem like a great idea, but in reality, they are still pretty noticeable. At least with braces, you see them, and you know what they are. With a bright or white pair, someone might see them and think your teeth are messed up and jagged. It is not the most recommended way to go about straightening your teeth invisibly.
Straightening Surgery
Tooth straightening surgery is also an option, but this is certainly mostly for severe instances and then for vital reconstructive uses. It is a riskier solution than non-surgical methods. Still, it does have the benefit of not having to wear any braces or aligners over a considerable length of time. It is an option that should only be carefully considered with the advice of your dentist and is usually left as a last resort. It’s almost always best to go with some braces rather than this route.
